EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders has aired Rose Ayling-Ellis’s exit scenes, with sweet twist for Frankie before going.
The BBC One soap capped off the first half of a double bill on Thursday (September 22) by saying goodbye to beloved character Frankie in bittersweet scenes, as she headed off to a new job in Scotland.
following a powerful final storyline about consenta rift grew between Frankie and Mick this week when she was considering leaving Walford to take up a new job opportunity.
Linda helped Mick to give Frankie his blessing, which meant it was time to say goodbye. What was supposed to be a leaving party turned into a much more dramatic turn of events when Frankie discovered Janine had an appointment to terminate her pregnancy.
Frankie went to Mick to encourage him to support Janine through her difficult decision, though this would mean some big changes for her own departure plans.
All the chaos that ensued meant that there may be nobody to go with Frankie on her journey to the airport, which was an intimidating thought.
After Sonia suggested she head to the Tube station alone, Frankie had one final chat with Mick, Linda and Shirley where she revealed she was going to bravely make the journey to Scotland by herself.
As Mick helped her put on her backpack, I noticed she’d written her name as ‘Frankie Carter’ on the tag.
“I haven’t made it official, but it just felt right,” she tearfully told her dad.
As Frankie set off, Linda lovingly joked: “She’s been a mad chapter in our lives, ain’t she?”
“The nuttiest yet,” Mick quipped.
Fans won’t have to wait too long to see Rose Ayling-Ellis back on screens because she has confirmed she’s actively developing a TV comedy series that she’ll star in. We can’t wait!
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
